KHUJAND, October 11, Asia-Plus — On October 12, narcology centers located in the northern province of Sughd will receive 14 computers, according to the Sughd health department.

A source at the Sughd health department said that the office equipment will be provided to the centers by an expert commission of the Drug Demand Reduction Program (DDRP), funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a project to introduce a single unique code of primary registration of drug users.

The source said the equipment will help improve narcology service in northern Tajikistan.  The source said “The computers will be used to create a database of all drug users registered in the province in a shorter time.”

According to him, the computers will allow the narcology centers to systematically keep up with drug situation in Sughd and cover more drug-dependant persons with medical, social and preventative services.
