DUSHANBE, November 9, Asia-Plus – Administration of AgroInvestBonk expects the bank’s deposit basis to have increased by the end of the year.

A source at AgroInvestBonk said that a stable increase in deposits of the population in the bank is the ground for such prognosis.  

“As of November 1, deposits kept in AgroInvestBonk have amounted to totaling 183.9 million somonis, which is 51 percent more compared to last year,” the source said, adding that deposits for a fixed period make 58 percent of the whole volume of deposits in the bank and amount to 107.1 million somonis.  

According to the source, an average interest on deposits in their bank is 15 percent.  “At present AgroInvestBonk offers eight types of deposit products,” said the source, “We are currently working on introducing two other deposit products.”   

According to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), a total volume of deposits in the republic has amounted to 783.4 million somonis as of October 1, 2006, which is 45 percent more compared to last year.  

Founded in 1992, AgroInvestBonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 57 other branches across the republic. AgroInvestBonk’s declared capital includes 210,000 shares, valued at 21 million somonis. The face value of one share is 100 somonis.

According to Tajik central bank, the AgroInvestBonk regulative bank has amounted to 47.1 million somonis (more than US$13 million) as of October 1, 2006.
