DUSHANBE, November 10, Asia-Plus – A two-day seminar formally titled “International Legal Standards in the Field of Media” opened in Dushanbe today.

The seminar staged by the Tajik Journalists’ Union, National Association of Independent Media (Nansmit) and the Foundation for Memory and Protection of the Rights of Journalists of Tajikistan under support of UNSECO is aiming to consider international standards and state of media in Tajikistan.  

A source at the Tajik Journalists’ Union said participants in the seminar are discussing principles and criteria of the freedom of speech and international laws on the freedom of speech.

Lawyer Inoyat Inoyatov and the head of the Foundation for Memory and Protection of the Rights of Journalists of Tajikistan Mukhtor Boqizoda and the Nansmit representative Abdufattoh Vohidov are conducting the seminar.
