DUSHANBE, December 19, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe municipal officials have discussed a new general plan of the capital city and measures to start the construction of multi-story residential buildings within the first circle of the city.

A control meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office presided by its head Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev was held on December 18.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that relevant municipal services had been charged to register all private residential buildings located within the first circle of Dushanbe.  According to the spokesman, the mayor demanded at the meeting that urgent measures should be taken to start the construction of multi-story residential buildings within the first circle.  The mayor also ordered to resolve the issue of providing plots to vulnerable families, living within the first circle, in the Khovaron area of the city for constructing residential buildings.

The meeting also touched upon the issue of carrying out legal examination of lands that were provided to the districts, adjoining the capital city, in the Soviet time for temporal use without right of major construction.

The meeting also considered issues related to functioning of the passenger transport service.

Concerning socioeconomic development of Dushanbe, the mayor ordered his deputy, Rustam Rahmatov, to have submitted concrete investment programs for consideration by February 1, 2007.
