DUSHANBE, December 19, Asia-Plus — Over the past eleven months, Tajikistan has generated 15.716 billion kWh of electricity, which is 1.3 percent fewer that in the same period of last year, according to the State Committee for Statistics.  

Meanwhile, 201,000 giga-calories of thermal energy have been generated over the same-eleven period, which is 20.2 percent fewer than in January-November 2005.

A share of electricity in an external trade turnover of Tajikistan for January-November has amounted to 3.9 percent.  Over the report period, Tajikistan has exported 4.0185 billion kWh of electricity for US446.843 billion, which is 4.5 percent fewer than in eleven months of 2005.  Over the same eleven-month period, Tajikistan has imported 4.5746 billion kWh of electricity for US$63.103 million (in January-November 2005, Tajik electricity import amounted to US$52.807 million).  

            Uzbekistan remains the main energy partner of Tajikistan. 

            In all, over the report period, Tajikistan’s fuel-energy sector has produced 267.7 million somonis worth of output, which is 99.9 percent of the January-November 2005 level.   

Over the past eleven months, 20,800 tons of oil, 18,300 cubic meters of natural gas have been produced and 75,300 tons coal have been extracted. 

In January-November 2006, Tajikistan has imported 537.7 million cubic meters of natural gas for US429.6 million.
