DUSHANBE, April 6, Asia-Plus — Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov today morning left for Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province in northern Tajikistan.

Noilsho Nouraliyev, a spokesman for the ministry of education (MoD), said that the main purpose of the visit is for the minister to inspect educational facilities in Khujand and discuss a progress of the implementation of president’s orders and commissions on putting in order holding of school festivities and a ban on the use of cell phones and private cars at high schools.

We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon demanded at a government session that that holding of “pompous” school festivities should be banned.

During his stay in Khujand, the minister held meetings with Sughd authorities and teaching staffs at the Khujand educational facilities.
