DUSHANBE, April 10, Asia-Plus – Russian military planes are continuing to provide assistance to Tajik border service in delivering cargoes to the remote mountain areas of Tajikistan, Russia’s Federal Security Service’s (FSB) operational border group in Tajikistan said.   

The operational border group spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Viktor Letov, told Asia-Plus that from April 5 to April 9, the group’s AN-72 delivered some 9 tons of various cargoes to the remote mountain areas for Tajik border units stationed there.  According to him, the totaled included food products, spare parts and other equipment.  Over the report period, the plane has also carried some 300 passengers, the spokesman said.  

The operation group’s aircrews have worked in close cooperation with helicopter operation of Tajik border troops.
