DUSHANBE, April 30, Asia-Plus – Tajik national air carrier, TajikAir, re-launches once-weekly air service to St Petersburg.

The source at TajikAir said that Tajik air carrier resumes flights to St Petersburg beginning on March 6.  It will be once weekly TU-154M service, and the flights will be operated on Sundays, according to the source.    

The source added that like other air routes to the Russian Federation the rates on the Dushanbe-St-Petersburg-Dushanbe are “sliding” or seasonal, depending on the passenger traffic volume.    

“Thus at present business class travel on this air route from Dushanbe to St Petersburg costs $532 and from St Petersburg to Dushanbe costs 4450,” said the source, “Economy class travel prices are $409 and $346.7 respectively.” 

At present flights from Dushanbe to St Petersburg are operated by Russia’s air company Pulkovo Airlines, according to the source.   

Tajik national air carrier now operates flights to four Russian cities, including Moscow, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Samara.  Flights to St Petersburg will be the fifth air route from Dushanbe to Russia operated by TajikAir.  

Besides, TajikAir currently operates flights to Tehran, New Delhi, Urumqi (China), Sharja (United Arab Emirates), Istanbul, Munich, Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), and Almaty (Kazakhstan), the source said.
