DUSHANBE, May 3, Asia-Plus – The 19th session of the CIS council for education cooperation has opened in Dushanbe.

The session that has brought together deputy education ministers from member nations of the CIS and rectors of a number of CIS higher educational institutions aims to consider issues related to further expansion of education cooperation between the CIS states.

 According to the Tajik Ministry of Education (MoE), 12 issues, including development interstate cooperation in education, post-diploma vocational education, structures of scientific degrees as well as recommendations on harmonization of legal documents on assessing professionalism of scientific workers, have been tabled to the session’s agenda.    

In the meantime, the 12th conference of the CIS education ministers will open in Dushanbe tomorrow.  The source at a MoE said that participants at the conference are expected to exchange views on expansion of cooperation in the field of vocational-technical education, secondary vocational (special) and higher vocational education.
