DUSHANBE, May 16, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday May 15, President Emomali Rahmon met with heads of Rasht Valley’s districts (eastern Tajikistan) to discuss issues related to socioeconomic development of the region.  

According to presidential press service, during the meeting it was noted that work on development of gardening in Rasht Valley is progressing and construction of the second section of the highway Dushanbe-Jirgatol-Saritash (Kyrgyzstan) is going on.  They are currently also making preparations for opening of the branch of Tajik Teachers’ Training University in the Rasht district and continuing work on improvement of the administrative center of the Nurobod district.  

Heads of Rasht Valley’s districts noted that local people have supported the government initiative on regulating traditions and rituals.   

During the meeting, the president set concrete tasks on intensifying work to develop the Rasht region and explain state policy to the population.
