DUSHANBE, May 16, Asia-Plus — Tajik tourism companies will take part in the 2nd Kyrgyzstan International “Tourism and Travel” Fair — BITF-2007 that will be held in the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek from May 25 to May 27.

 According to the Committee for Youth Affairs, Tourism and Sports under the Government of Tajikistan, a number of Tajik tourist companies, including Jahongard, TajikAviaTour and the Sughd branch of Tajik state tourist company Sayoh, will represent Tajikistan in the fair. .

Mirzo Rustamov, the head of the Sughd branch of Sayoh, told Asia-Plus that his enterprise will present several tourism routes, including Samarqand-Panjakent-Ayni-Istaravshan-Khujand, as well as CD containing information about tourism potentials of Tajikistan in the fair in Bishkek.   

The Jahongard chairperson Mohira Solehova said that her company plans to present tourism routes to the Fan Mountains.  “We have also an exciting tourism route that includes visiting the National Museum of Antiquities in Dushanbe and Buddhist temple at Ajina-Teppa in the Khatlon province,” Solehova said.  

Some 100 companies from 30 countries, including Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and others, are supposed to participate in the BITF-2007 exhibition in Bishkek.  They will put on display their achievement in tourism and relevant industries in the fair, which is expected to be attended by more than 10,000 visitors.  

BITF 2007 will present several sections such as national and regional tourist organizations, tour operators and travel agencies, etc.  Exhibiting companies and visitors are expected to sign contracts during the exhibition.

The main objective of the fair is to attract attention to the tourist capacities of Kyrgyzstan, present investment potentials of tourism, promote exchange of contacts and services.  

Besides, an international tourism fair entitled “The City of Osh on the Great Silk Road” will open in the Kyrgyz southern city of Osh on May 28.   

More than 70 tourist companies now operate in Tajikistan.  Last year, 29,700 tourists visited Tajikistan, which 15,000 people more than in 2005.
