DUSHANBE, May 30, Asia-Plus  — Officers from the Drug Control Agency’s (DCA) squad at the Dushanbe airport have stopped an attempt by a drug courier to transport heroin to Russia.

Press service of the counternarcotics agency said that their officers detained a 46-year-old resident of Dushanbe on May 29, when inspecting passengers on the Dushanbe-Irkutsk (Russia).  He was attempting to internally smuggle some 600 kilograms of heroin into Irkutsk, the press service said.    По данному факту следственным отделом АКН возбуждено уголовное дело.

The Drug Control Agency has instituted criminal proceedings against the drug courier and an investigation is under way.
