DUSHANBE, June 16, Asia-Plus — The Committee on Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism has announced the competition “Youth and National Accord.”

The source at the committee said that the goal of the competition, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of a Day of National Accord (the General Peace Agreement on Peace and National Accord in Tajikistan was signed in Moscow on June 27, 1997), is to promote development and active involvement of mass media in issues of propagating ideals of patriotism and national self-consciousness among young generation.  

The articles participating in the contest should cover themes of unity, propagation of ideals of patriotism, self-consciousness and national accord, as well as reflect youth striving for strengthening national independence of the country, the source said.   

According to him, the competition is part of the national program for the fostering of patriotism and loyalty to Tajikistan designed for 2006-2010.  

The contest participants may submit their materials directly to the committee or the Dushanbe weekly
