ISFARA, July 5, Asia-Plus — Over the first six months of the year, 906 residents of Isfara have applied to local Agency for Social Security, Employment and Migration for jobs, the Agency director Nourullo Qurbonov said. 

“Of them, 705 have been officially registered as jobless,” Qurbonov said, adding that 310 jobless have been placed in jobs, 75 others have been sent to take refresher training courses, and 135 persons have been sent to public works to improve Kulkand, Khonobod and Navgilem jamoats, as well as Christian cemetery in Isfara.  

“Over the report period, 10 jobless have received small loans to start their businesses and 23 persons have received extraordinary grants,” the agency director said.  

According to official statistics, a number of employees working with state-run organizations has decreased by 1,458 people; of them, 590 have left the country seeking better employment opportunities.     

At the same time, 482 other Isfarans have started their own businesses and 72 others have got jobs in farming units over the report period, Qurbonov said.  

“It is to be noted that in January-June,  608 jobless have received small loans from microfinance organizations Imon and MicroInvest,” the agency director said.
