DUSHANBE July 25, Asia-Plus — On Tuesday July 24, a group of Russian physicians, comprising ophthalmologists, cardiologists, therapists, surgeons and otorolaryngologists, arrived in Tajikistan for a month-long visit.  

Safar Sayfuddinov, the head of the medical services organization department of the Ministry of Health (MoH), told Asia-Plus that medical workers’ visit is part of the project for creation of organization of health care and social security within the area of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Visiting Russian physicians and nurses are working in the Khatlon province.  “During a month, they will carry out medical examination of local population there and work on early detection of diseases,” the Tajik health official said.
