DUSHANBE, August 28, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan and Qatar Chambers of Commerce and Industry have signed an agreement on setting up a Business Council.

According to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the agreement was signed in Dushanbe on August 27.  Tajik CCI head Sharif Said and Qatari Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economy Yousuf Hussein Kamal inked the document.  

The documents were signed in the presence of President Emomali Rahmon and the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who is on a two-day official visit to Tajikistan.

The source at a CCI said that the business council is set up for the purpose promoting establishment and development of contacts between businesspeople of the two country and expansion of trade between Tajikistan and Qatar.  The council will arrange regular forums and meetings to facilitate expansion of ties among entrepreneurs and industrialists of the two countries.    

The council will also provide exchange of information and holding of exhibitions with participation of Tajik and Qatari companies.
