DUSHANBE, September 5, Asia-Plus — On Tuesday September 4, President Emomali Rahmon handed state decorations to 200 persons, including known Tajik public figures and artistes, on occasion of the 16th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, presidential press service said.  

Colonel Nematullo Qurbonov, commander of one of sub-units of the National Guard, was awarded the Spitamen Order.  Thirty-two other persons were awarded the Sharaf (Glory) Order.  60 persons were warded the Medal for Labor Distinctions.  Eleven persons were awarded the Medal fro Bravery, and eight other persons were awarded the Shafqat (Mercy) Medal.  

Tajikistan State Ismoili Somoni Awards were handed to Bahromuddin Saidov for contributions in the area of medicine, Muqaddas Qurbonov and Muattar Norova for contributions in the field of science and technology, farhod Sahripov for contributions in the field of economics, Abdukhalil Gahfurov and Emomqul Sirojiddin for contributions in the filed of humanities.  

Besides, the title of National Artist of Tajikistan was given to Sherali Qaysov, Asalbek Nazriyev, Shamsi Nizomov, Nasriddin Nouriddinov and Ghfronjon Rahimboyev.
