DUSHANBE, September 12, Asia-Plus — The Mining-Metallurgical Institute in the northern city of Chkalovsk today morning suspended lessons to allow students to be sent to harvest cotton.

Asia-Plus’ reporter in Chkalovsk said that the first- and second-year students had been sent to pick cotton in the Zafarobod district.  According to the institute administration, the students will work in cotton fields until November.  

The source at the institute administration said that students who will refuse to go to harvest cotton without weighty reasons will be dismissed.
