DUSHANBE, October 1, Asia-Plus — On Saturday September 29, new Turkmen Ambassador to Tajikistan Ahmed Qurbanov presented copy of credentials to Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, Tajik MFA said.

In the course of the talks Tajik minister expressed gratitude for warm welcome shown to him during his recent visit to Ashgabat, where Zarifi had held a number constructive talks with high-ranking Turkmen state officials and expressed hope that the upcoming official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to Tajikistan would a new impulse for expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.  

During the meeting, the two also discussed issues related to the upcoming summit meetings that will be held in Dushanbe this week and the next summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that is scheduled to be held in the Tajik capital next year.
