Tajikistan reaches 52.4 percent of national cotton target

DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus /Mavjouda Salohiddinova/ — Tajikistan has yielded 291,419 tons of raw cotton by October 3, which is 52.4 percent of the national target, which has been determined at 550,000 tons of cotton, Asia-Plus has learned at press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection (MoAEP).  

On October2, Tajik cotton farms yielded 10,831 tons of cotton, which is 1.8 percent of the target.  

The southern Khatlon province has  pledged to produce 330,500 tons of raw cotton this year.  They have gathered 182,577 tons of cotton by this day, which is 55.2 percent of the target.

Districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) have yielded 25,662 tons of raw cotton, which is 53.2 percent of the target.  Their target is 48,200 tons of cotton. 

Cotton growers of the northern Sughd province have yielded 83,180 tons of cotton by October 3, which comprises 48.6 percent of its target determined at 171,300 tons of cotton.
