DUSHANBE, October 29, Asia-Plus  — officers from the Vanj police directorate in Gorno Badakhshan have discovered an arms cache.

The source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said the cache had been discovered in a minefield in the territory of the district.  Five sub-machine-guns Kalashnikov, two machine-guns and one grenade launchers were extracted from the hide.

“The cache is most likely a legacy of the country’s disastrous civil war in the Nineties,” the source said.
