DUSHANBE, November 22, Asia-Plus  — The Embassy of Japan in Dushanbe is signing is going to sign the grant-contract with Ayni Jamoat in Varzob District for the Grant Assistance for Grass Roots Human Security Project which names “The Project for the Construction of the River Bank Protection Structures on the Kharangon River, Ayni Jamoat, Varzob District” at Embassy of Japan, Asia-Plus has learned from Khurshed Irgitov, assistant for grants, Japanese Embassy.   .

Grant total for this project is up to US$ 65,491.

This project aims to protect livings of people in Ayni Jamoat in Varzob District from frequent floods by constructing river bank protection for 500m total of both side of the Kharangon River. It also secures Republican Sanatorium of handicapped people which is located along the river and in danger of collapse. Ayni Jamoat in Varzob District is 20km north from Dushanbe. 

Under the Grant Assistance for Grass Roots Human Security Projects, the Government of Japan has extended to the total grant of US$ 12,476,588 for 200 projects to support a variety of humanitarian and development activities in the Republic of Tajikistan since 1996.

Mr. Hiroshi Takahashi, Chargé d’Affaires represents the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Tajikistan.
