DUSHANBE, November 23, Asia-Plus  — On Friday November 23, Tajikistan’s Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) and China’s Xin Qiao, dealing with international engineering technologies, singed in Dushanbe a memorandum of cooperation.  

The source at a MoEI said that Xin Qiao is interested in participation in construction of a cement plant as well as small and medium hydropower plants in Tajikistan.

According to him, the Chinese company also intends to explore and develop coal fields and construct a thermal power plant at kindly coal deposit as well as to be engaged in shifting thermal power plant to coal. 

The mentioned projects are expected to be funded through export credits of the Government of China, the source aid.   

“The memorandum, in particular, says that specialists from the Chinese company and representatives from the MoEI will carry out survey and after that feasibility studies for implementation of the projects will be conducted,” the source said.  

In the meantime, the MoEI on November 23 signed the memorandum of cooperation also with China National Technical Import & Export Corporation (CNTIC), which includes the same items, according to the source.   

Founded in 1952, China National Technical Import & Export Corporation (CNTIC) is a large state owned corporation specialized in the import and export of technologies and complete set of equipment, an agency for tendering and bids, project consultation and management as well as engineering/contracting for projects at home and abroad.
