            DUSHANBE, November 26, Asia-Plus  — International conference entitled “The State-of-the-art Technologies as Means of Raising Level of Russian-Language Study” has opened at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe.

The conference, dedicated to a Russian Language Year and staged under support of the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe, has brought together Russian-language teachers from general schools, lecturers at higher educational institutions, as well as education ministry representatives from the Central Asian countries.  

Zulaykho Mazorova, chairwoman of the steering committee for the conference, told Asia-Plus that the conference is part of the national program for improvement of the study of the Russian and the English languages, which has worked in Tajikistan since May 2003 . 

According to her, raising efficiency of the study of the Russian language at Tajik educational facilities is focus of the conference. 

During two days, the conference participants will consider issues related to improving the study of the Russian language, formation of a general culture of personality on the basis of learning the minimum of comprehensive programs of the Russian’-language study, and seeking ways to incent students to improve the study of the Russian language, she said.  

Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov and Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ramazan Abdulatipov are expected to address the plenary session of the conference.
