DUSHANBE, November 27, Asia-Plus — A roundtable meeting formally titled “Ways of Improving Mechanism of Cooperation of the Red Cross and red Crescent Movement with Media for further Effective Work” was held in Dushanbe on November 25, Tajikistan’s Red Crescent Society (RCS) told Asia-Plus on Tuesday.
Madina Sayfiddinova, information officer, RCS, said the meeting, held under support of delegations of the Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee for Red Cross (ICRC), brought together representatives from the country’s media.
According to her, the meeting participants familiarized themselves with work of RCS and introduced their motions on further expansion of cooperation.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the world”s largest humanitarian network, with a presence and activities in almost every country.
The Movement incorporates the Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (the International Federation), as well as National Societies in 178 countries.
