DUSHANBE, December 5, Asia-Plus  – Issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Japan were major topic of a meeting of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon with Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Koumura that was held in Tokyo today morning, presidential press service said.  

In the course of the talks President Rahmon highly appraised activity of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Tajikistan, which, in particular, had made considerable contribution to expansion of cooperation of Tajikistan with all Central Asia’s states.   

The two also exchanged views on measures to provide stability in the Central Asian, impact of the present situation in Afghanistan on the region, as well as support of Tajikistan and Japan for post-war reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy.   .
