DUSHANBE, December 26, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon has congratulated Islam Karimov over his reelection as President of Uzbekistan, presidential press service said. 

In his message of congratulations sent to Islam Karimov on December 25, President Rahmon, in particular, noted, “Your victory in the election is evidence of support for policy conducted under your leadership and aimed at promoting wellbeing of friendly Uzbekistan and its people.”  

The Tajik head of state also expressed hope for development of bilateral Tajik-Uzbek relations and further expansion of regional cooperation in Central Asia.
