In the course of the talks the two discussed a progress of implementation of a number of AKDN-supported projects in Tajikistan.  They, in particular, considered issues related to construction of campus of the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Khorog, new bridges, as well as world-class Serena Hotel and the Ismaili Center in Dushanbe.

Founded and guided by His Highness the Aga Khan, the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) brings together a number of development agencies, institutions, and programs that work primarily in the poorest parts of Asia and Africa.  AKDN is a contemporary endeavor of the Ismaili Imamat to realize the social conscience of Islam through institutional action.
