DUSHANBE, January 28, Asia-Plus  — Representatives from Germany’s HeidelbergCement AG, which is Europe’s largest cement producer, are arriving in Tajikistan today evening, according to the State Committee for Investments and Management of State-owned Property (SCIMSP). 

The source at a SCIMSP said the purpose of the visit if for them to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajikistan. 

During their stay in Tajikistan, specialists from HeidelbergCement are scheduled to hold talks with senior representatives from Tajikistan’s branch ministries and organizations as well as visit the Dushanbe cement plant to get acquainted with its state and capacities, the SCIMSP source said.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) said that in the course of the talks with Tajik officials German specialists would touch upon the issues related to participation of HeidelbergCement in modernization of the Dushanbe cement plant.  

 HeidelbergCement is the global market leader in aggregates and a prominent player in the fields of cement, concrete and other downstream activities, making it one of the world’s largest manufacturers of building materials.  The company employs some 70,000 people at 2,800 locations in 50 countries.
