DUSHANBE, February 21, Asia-Plus  — Presentation of a plan of actions on working out the health strategy was held at the Unit for implementation of the Community and Basic Health Project (Project Implementation Unit or PIU) in Dushanbe yesterday.

Ms. Nargis Qosimova, PIU public relations coordinator, said that senior representatives from the Ministry of Health (MoH), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), SIDA Office, and ZdravPlus Project attended the presentation ceremony.

According to her, international consultant of the Danish company Eurohealth for technical assistance to Tajikistan’s public health planning, Mr. Patrick Maknelli (phonetically spelled), presented the plan of actions.

Speaking at the plan-presentation ceremony, Mr. Maknelli noted that work of donors in Tajikistan still has “fragmentary character and sometimes, activities of different international NGOs are duplicated,” the PIU public relations coordinator said.

The plan of actions may coordinate work of donors and a MoH, the international consultant said.

The plan of actions provides for merging funds represented by national budget and international organizations and working out the single plan of development of public health for medium-term prospect, Qosimova said.
