Turkish Ambassador to Tajikistan, Akif Aykhan, Turkey’s Jevahir Holding President, Ibrahim Jevahir, and representatives from this company, Yusef Jevahir and Islam Jevahir, took part at the meeting.

During the meeting, Said noted that a two-way trade between the two countries in 2007 amounted to $500 million.  The CCI head said that quite a lot of Turkish goods are currently on Tajikistan’s market, and Turkish companies now work in various sectors in Tajikistan, ranging from housing to construction of roads.  However, there is considerable room for expansion of economic ties, he added.

The CCI head also appealed for Turkish participation in the development of Tajik hydropower, mining, telecommunications, health care, and tourism.
