Ex head of Tajik Journalists’ Union Mirzohayot Davlatov dies

DUSHANBE, March 10, Asia-Plus  — Known Tajik journalists also ex head of Tajik Journalists’ Union Mirzohayot Davlatov, died in Dushanbe Friday, aged 67 after a long illness.   

Mirzohayot Davlatov graduated from Tajik National University in 1962.  For several years, Davlatov had worked with

Maorif va Madaniyat. 

In the early 1980s, he had worked as interpreter in Afghanistan.  From 1985 to 1986, he was executive secretary at Tajik Journalists’ Union.  Mr. Davlatov headed the Tajik Journalists’ Union from 1986 to 2006.   

Mirzohayot Davlatov is one of coauthors of the first Tajikistan’s law on media.
