DUSHANBE, March 11, Asia-Plus –  A building of GBAO’s regional mental hospital, which is located in the Roshtqala district, is in a very poor state and requires major repairs, the hospital head physician Khoushvakhtsho Amirshoyev said in an interview with Pamir Media.

According to him, the hospital’s building was repaired for the last time in 1974 already.

Khayrullobek Khayrullobekov, a chief accountant with the hospital, noted that no body has to date offered them assistance with rehabilitating the hospital.

The regional mental hospital with a total of 60 beds is located in Roshtqala’s administrative center, some 35 kilometers southeast of Khorog.

At present more than 50 patients from all districts of the region are receiving treatment in this hospital.  Last year, some 140 patients received treatment in the GBAO mental hospital.
