DUSHANBE, March 13, Asia-Plus — Ten Tajik specialists in agriculture will take training courses in Japan under support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
According to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), this issue was discussed at a meeting the Minister of Agriculture Qosim Qosimov with representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) that was held in Dushanbe on March 12.
In the course of the talks, Qosimov and Mr. Kazuhide Usui, the head of the Group for Work with Central Asia and Caucasus, discussed issues related to training of personnel for Tajikistan by Japanese experts (JDC Project).
The Japanese side has organized two- and four-four courses for obtaining additional education in the field of agriculture and seven Tajik specialists are currently taking these courses, the MoA source said.
JICA is implementing a number of development projects in Tajikistan in sectors like health care, water supply, and road building.
Founded in 1974, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is an aid implementing agency that provides technical cooperation and other forms of assistance.
