DUSHANBE, April 10, Asia-Plus  — Issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan were a major topic of a meeting of Sharif Said, the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with Afghan Trade Attaché Najibulla Rahimi that was held in Dushanbe on April 9, the CCI press service said.  

The sides reached an agreement that a group of Tajik entrepreneurs will visit Afghanistan in late April to discuss priorities and main directions of economic cooperation between the two countries. 

During their stay in Kabul, Tajik businesspeople will hold talks with senior representatives from Afghan relevant ministries and organizations as well as get acquainted with exhibition activities of Afghanistan.  Besides, they will have an opportunity to study market of the neighboring country and outline priorities of cooperation with Afghan companies in processing cotton, leather and wool, as well as producing carpets.  

The sides also reached an agreement on holding the first exhibition of Afghan goods in Tajikistan in June this year.
