KONIBODOM, April 18, Asia-Plus  — A tripartite meeting of heads of the Sughd’s private TV stations – TRK (TV and radio company) SM-1 (Khujand), Guli Bodom (Konibodom) and Isfara (Isfara) – was held in Konibodom yesterday.  

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation, first of all, interaction in exchanging TV stories for news programs.  The meeting participants also discussed issues related to protection of information space of the country. 

Speaking at the meeting, the TRK SM-1 director general Akram Urunov noted that priorities of activities of his company are to provide timely operating information and promote democratization of society and formation of public opinion, and “all these issues are covered by our news bulletins in Tajik and Russia.”  TRK SM-1 airs 12 hour a day.    

The meeting resulted in signing of a cooperation agreement, under which the TV stations will exchange TV stories on the most important political, socioeconomic and cultural events in their cities.

“If to take into consideration that channels are now chocked up with programs of TV companies from neighboring countries, such a cooperation will allow to keep our viewers because the results of polls have shown that most viewers are watching, first of all, local news programs,” the TRK SM-1 director general said.
