KULOB, April 21, Asia-Plus  – Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings banks) has provided loans to 15 cotton-growing farms in Khatlon’s Hamadoni district that that have proved to be “abandoned” after having refused services of futures companies, Izattullo Rahmonov, the head of the Kulob branch of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) said.  

According to him, those 15 farming units have totaling 573 hectares of cotton fields.  The cotton-sowing campaign is scheduled to be finished by April 27, Rahmonov said.  

He added that in all, Amonabonk has received loan applications form cotton farmers in the Kulob region for 8.2 million somonis.
