DUSHANBE, April 21, Asia-Plus — Fifteen US Marines will train 100 officers from the main border directorate within the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Tajikistan in methods of protection of national border against terrorist intrusion, Asia-Plus has learned at the US Embassy in Dushanbe.
The training that has been launched in the outskirts of Dushanbe will last until the end of June, and the US Marines will train Tajik border guards in methods of carrying out operations in case of the threat of a group of terrorists breaching the border without infringing upon rights of civilian population.
The United States has provided $50,000 for conducting the training and on completion of the training the Tajik borer officers will be given appropriate certificates.
