DUSHANBE, May 2, Asia-Plus — Drug police officers found 5 kilograms of heroin on May 1 while searching a car belonging to the 57-year-old resident of Dushanbe Abdllo Halimov, press service of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.
Officers from the MoI directorate for combating drug trafficking (drug police) detained the drug peddler in the center of Dushanbe, near the teahouse Rohat, where he was seeking purchaser, press service said.
Halimov was detained on suspicion of having involved in drug trafficking. Criminal proceedings have been instituted on the drug-trafficking charge and an investigation is under way.
