DUSHANBE, May 22, Asia-Plus — An animated film “Persepolis” made by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud in France in 2007 will be shown in the Culture Center Bactria in Dushanbe today.
The film is based on Marjane Satrapi”s autobiographical graphic novel of the same name. The story follows a young girl as she comes of age against the backdrop of the Iranian Revolution. The story ends with Marjane as a 21-year-old expatriate.
Persepolis won Jury Prize at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The film is in French, dubbed in Russian with English subtitles.
