QURGHON TEPPA, May 23, Asia-Plus  — An independent news agency Payom has opened in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Payom head Murod Sotiyev said that the news agency will publish weekly bulletin containing news from 15 cities and districts of the province.   

The news agency has been founded under support of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation – Tajikistan. 

Payom is the first news agency in Qurghon Teppa and the third independent media in the province, following weekly Bomdod and the TV station TV-5 in Qurghon Teppa.
