DUSHANBE, May 27, Asia-Plus — A three-shift work of industrial enterprises will allow increasing production of industrial goods, Deputy Energy and Industries Minister, Mirzosharif Haqdodov, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, introduction of the three-shift work depends on production cycle of enterprises. “There are enterprises with uninterrupted cycle such as the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO), which operates in three shifts,” said the deputy minister, “The second type of enterprises includes clothing-manufacturing factories such as closed joint-stock company (OJSC) Guliston, which works in two shifts. But such enterprises are not so many in the country, not more than ten.”
“Besides, there are also small enterprises working while receiving orders,” said Haqdodov, “Therefore, it is necessary to assess product market before shifting the enterprise to the two- of three-shift work. All these features should be taken into account.”
According to him, it is possible to provide uninterrupted production of building materials, which are much in demand in the country.
“It is necessary to organize the three-shift work of enterprises during the summer months when the country has surplus electrical power,” Haqdodov said.
He further added that private and joint-stock companies currently constitute 60 percent of industrial enterprises. “Enterprise with a staff of 100 may organize work in three shifts,” the deputy minister said
In the meantime, Nazarali Khonaliyev, the head of the industrial policy department of the Institute for Economic Studies within the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, considers that it is impossible to organize the three-shift work without stable electricity supplies and constant delivery of spare parts and raw materials.
