DUSHANBE, May 28, Asia-Plus — On Tuesday May 27, five cars NIVA (Russian jeep) purchased at the expense of loan funds provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), totaling $78,900, were distributed to medical facilities in five pilot districts within the framework of the Health Sector Reform Project, Tahmina Jabborova, the deputy director of the health projects implementation unit, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to her, the vehicles were distributed to health centers in the city of Kulob and Kuhistoni Mastchoh, Roshtqala and Ayni districts.
“Five other vehicles totaling $76,000 will be distributed to the pilot districts before the end of summer,” Jabborova said.
Besides, the project provides for $230,000 for purchase of medicines. Of these loan funds, $100,000 have already been drawn and medicines have been distributed to primary medical-sanitary aid facilities in the mentioned districts, the deputy director said.
