DUSHANBE, May 30, Asia-Plus  — I apply to Mr. President, asking to take into account services of my farther and make decision on releasing him, Yoqub Salimov’s son, Abybakr Salimov, remarked at a press conference in Dushanbe on May 30.  

According to Abubakr, he graduated from management department at university abroad, where he now lives and runs his business.  

“It is already four months that I have been in Dushanbe and over this period, I have met with my fathers only twice; for the last time, I met with him a month ago,” said Abubakr Salimov, “My father is still in normal health condition, however, four years spent in jail have affected his health.”

Abubakr Salimov noted that he is proud of his farther, who, according to him, was fulfilling his duties worthily.  

We will recall that former Interior Minister Yoqub Salimov was sentenced by the Tajik Supreme Court to a 15-year prison term for treason, banditry and abuse of office.  Salimov was convicted in a closed trial that lasted five months.
