DUSHANBE, May 31, Asia-Plus – Three Tajik nationals have been killed in mine explosion in Russia’s Volgograd region, according to the Russian news agency Novy Region.
Three Tajik labor migrants were killed on Friday as land mine exploded in Volgograd”s Gorodishchensky district, Novy Region reported, referring to Itar-Tass.
The incident took place at around 5:00 p.m. in Moscow time near the settlement of Kuzmichi. According to the preliminary data, the labor migrants were working in the field and the landmine exploded after one of them get hold of it by shovel.
Operational team comprising officers from the Volgograd police directorate, security service and emergency management agency studied the explosion site, and according to them, the land mine was a legacy of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. All agricultural works in that area have been suspended.
