DUSHANBE, June 14, Asia-Plus  — A large amount of heroin was seized in an operation carried out by officers from the Interior Ministry directorate for combating drug trafficking (drug police) in Dushanbe’s microrayon 33 Friday morning, according to press service of the Ministry of Interior (MoI). 

Mahmadullo Asadulloyev, a spokesman for a MoI, said the 41-year0old resident of Dushanbe Sadi Muqimov and the 50-year-old resident of Vahdat Boturali Zobirov were detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.  Some 4 kilograms of heroin were confiscated from them.   

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way, the spokesman said.
