DUSHANBE, July 1, 2008, Asia-Plus — An all-Kazakhstan congress of ethnic Tajiks who are nationals of Kazakhstan will be held in the Kazakh capital Astana on July 22, according to the Tajik MFA.
Davlat Nazriyev, the head of the MFA information department, said that it will be the first constituent congress of ethnic Tajiks living in Kazakhstan and an association of ethnic Tajiks of Kazakhstan is expected to be established at the congress.
They also plan to publish a newspaper in the Tajik language and launch website of the Tajik Diaspora in Kazakhstan, the MFA spokesman said.
He added that the Tajik Embassy in Astana will provide assistance to organizers of the congress and the issue of participation of representatives of Dushanbe at the congress will be considered within the next few days.
