DUSHANBE, July 15, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Nearly 30,000 bushes of hemp have been destroyed in the Sughd province within the framework of the ongoing anti-drug operation, dubbed “Poppy 2008,” press service of the Drug Control Agency (DCA).  

On July 12-13, 2,800 bushes of growing wild Indian hemp were destroyed by officers from the Sughd counter narcotics directorate in areas near the city of Chkalovsk and in the Konibodom district, the press service said.
