DUSHANBE, July 15, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A large single consignment of drugs has been seized in northern Tajikistan, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The source at a MoI said that an operation carried out by police in the northern city of Chkalovsk on July 14 led to the arrest of two drug pushers.  Some 103 kilograms of drugs were confiscated from.

The source refrained from giving further details.   

We will recall that Tajik law-enforcement authorities have seized some 3,568 kilograms of narcotics over the first six months of this year, which is 24.3 percent more than in the same period of last year.
