DUSHANBE, July 19, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Khujand-based open joint-stock company (OJSC), Eskhata Bank, has completed the first stage of introduction of the banking information complex (Oracle-based development platform), according to headquarters of Eskhata Bank in Khujand.

It means that activity of the bank is shifted to a new efficient IT platform with a broad business-functionality, the source at Eskhata Bank said.

“Introduction of the new main banking system is carried out in Eskhata Bank within the framework of the consecutive modernization of existing IT-infrastructure of the bank,” said the source.  “The bank needs powerful centralized information banking system that allows carrying out all transaction, accounting and management activity in the single information space as well as provides high efficiency, efficient control over the branches network, and work of all sub-divisions in the single base.”

Established in November 1993, a privately owned Eskhata Bank, with headquarters in Khujand, has eight branches in various regions of the country.  The bank got operating license in 1994.  In December 2005, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) took equity in Eskhata Bank that allowed Eskhata to continue to comply with the National Bank of Tajikistan’s minimum capital requirements, which have been revised upwards to $5 million.
